Good Old NHS

Got a phone call this morning from my local hospital at 0910......

Great news, ive got a date for my long awaited operation, unfortunatley it was at 0830 this morning, and due to the postal strike i hadnt recieved my letter.

Incompetant bastards, ive now been shunted down the list because some fucking retard in a n office in the hopsital didnt take the postal strike into consideration !!!

They had my bloody number, could they not of phoned me?

you might as well just buy a tent and go sit outside ur hospital and wait cos the NHS will screw up agian

My ward and CPNs either phoned everyone on their lists or went to visit them personally to remind them of any appointments or inform them of new ones. It must be a general hospital thing cos we mental nurses think of these things.

Mind we don't want our patients to miss their meds....some we REALLY don't want to miss their meds.

You want to know something else that will enrage your hernia further? You will go down as a Did Not Attend and will not count in the statistics for operations not completed in time and possibly will go back to the Bottom of the list.

I would be willing to bet that they sent out more appointments than there were spaces during (or just before) the postal strike knowing that people would not receive them before their operation was due thereby easing pressure on the waiting list temporarily. A hospital in Liverpool (I think it was anyway) had a habit of doing this without there being a postal strike and got caught out.

Cheers petal, i just know somethings gonna go wrong and i wont end up getting the op, its been a comedy of errors so far.

But ive not been washing for the past 5 days in the hope that the nurses think im stinking and give me a bed bath.

well thats it done and dusted, went without the minimal of fuss.......not.


Came too in the recovery room with high blood pressure and having a fit, all i remember is shaking like fuck



then doc asked me to walk wife to main entrance of hospital so i was mobile again, so numb nuts here collapses in main foyer and had to get stretchered back to the ward

Then the surgeon this morn comes to see me and tells me he had to make a bigger cut than first thought and im now gonna bee off for 4-6 weeks now
